GORRES VS MELENDEZ TO BE SHOWN ON ABS-CBN NOV. 15

ALA Promotions has informed through e-mail that the bout between Z “The Dream” Gorres and Luis Melendez will be shown on ABS-CBN before the Pacquiao-Cotto fight on November 15(Phil. time) at 9:00 am.
Gorres (30 W -2 L-2D, 17 KO’s) will face the Colombian Melendez ( 26W – 3 L – D, 21 KO’s) in a ten round bout on November 14 Manila Time at the Mandalay Bay House of Blues in Las Vegas, one day before Manny Pacquiao squares off against Miguel Cotto.
Gorres is in a must win situation so he can face WBO Bantamweight champ Alejandro Montiel in a rematch of their 2007 superflyweight title fight in Cebu where Gorres lost a disputed split decision.
Also slated to see action in the House of Blues is Gorres’ ALA stablemate Mark Jason Melligen who will face Michel Rosales of Mexico in a ten round welterweight fight and Federico “Magnifico” Catubay, who is handled by SGG Promotions. Catubay will figure in a twelve round IBF superflyweight eliminator against Juan Alberto Rosas of Mexico.
