KATSIDIS WINS BY SPLIT DECISION OVER ESCOBEDO

MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas -- In the second TV preliminary bout, after twelve competitive rounds, Michael Katsidis was a little too aggressive for Vincente Escobedo as he won a split decision. Katsidis came forward all night and landed effective punches to the body. Edcobedo had his moments in the middle of the fight but faded just a little bit down the stretch. The last two rounds were really close. Katsidis improves to 25-2 (21 KOs) while Escobedo falls to 21-2 (13 KOs). Scores of the fight were all over the place. That maybe due every round being similar in terms of action. Mike Fitzgerald had it 116-112 for Escobedo while Duane Ford has to 115-113 and Robert Hoyle had it 118-110 for Katisdis.
