SUICO DESTROYS THAI FOE IN 4TH ROUND By Jam Gutierrez PhilBoxing.com Thu, 28 Apr 2005 LAPU-LAPU CITY - Kadaugan sa Mactan proved to be a big success as WBC no.3 contender and WBC champ Randy "Kumong Bato" Suico successfully defended his belt after unleashing deadly hooks to his Thai foe in the 4th round. Referree Bruce Mctavish stopped the bout and declared SUICO a TKO winner. The fight was witnessed by Ring Magazine Featherweight champ Manny Pacquiao alongside his beautiful wife Jinkee and Mayor of the Lapu-lapu city Arturo "Boy" Radaza. Also other dignitaries present during the evening were Mayor of Mandaue Teddy Ouano.The fight will be featured in FISTORAMA, a regular sunday program in RPN after "MAIN EVENT". For fight review, in the 1st round, Suico was trying to get his rhythm and hit his Thai foe (Muangfalek) with jabs while keeping his high-powered right hand at bay. In the 2nd round, Suico was now trying to hit Muangfalek with powerful uppercuts and rocks him. Muangfalek sticks his left hand forward and counters Suico and hits him often times, Suico however was merely affected by his shots. In the 3rd round, Suico keeps the pressure on Muangfalek and hits him with solid rights. Muangfalek was trying to show Suico that he is not affected by his shots by wobbling his legs intendedly while the crowd awaits Suico's response...now comes the 4th round, there was an exchange of blows by both fighters until Suico cornered Muangfalek and unleashes his thunderous right and left hooks that smacks Muangfalek's face with a resounding thud and made him look like a murdered carcass! The fight was ended thereafter as Referree Bruce Mctavish ended the fight, and Suico was declared the winner by TKO. In the previous bout, WBA no.1 Yukka Gejon won over his Thai opponent Namchai with a 2nd round TKO. Gejon drops Namchai with a counter straight that is lightning fast.
