Lopez Knockouts Sungahid in Elorde Boxing

WBC International super-flyweight champion Sylvester Lopez keeps his streak going by stopping veteran Noel Sungahid in the third round of their 10-round main event non-title bout fought at the bantamweight level held last night at the Elorde Sports Center, Sucat. Still riding on his recent success of acquiring his regional belt, Lopez immediately controlled the action with a sustained attack leading to the stoppage. A big right to the body decked Sungahid who decided that he had received enough punishment and quit the bout giving Lopez a TKO victory.
In contrast, WBC International light-flyweight champion Julius Alcos had a tough time against the unpredictable Roy Jones Picardal in their 110-lbs. 10-round non-title bout and had to settle for a split-decision victory.
Rounding off the results of the other fights:
Ronelle ?Tarver? Esparas defeated Ryan Sermona via a unanimous decision in their 8-round featherweight bout;
Raymond ?Foreman? Sermona defeated Celso Danggod via a majority decision in their 6-round featherweight bout;
Vic ?Tata? Racuma prevailed over Fidel Ramos via a majority decision in their 6-round bantamweight bout;
Vergel Nebran defeated Rodalito Barona via a 2nd round TKO in their scheduled 4-round super-bantamweight bout;
Dado Cabintoy defeated Manny Talisic via a unanimous decision in their 6-round flyweight bout;
Renan Trongco winning via an impressive 4th round TKO in a scheduled 4-rounder over Gueller Ramos in a scheduled 4-rounder in the junior-flyweight fight; and
Dandy Declaro defeating Kosta Luzarito via a unanimous decision in their 4-round super-flyweight fight.
The event which was promoted by Bebot Elorde with the sponsorship of Omega Pain Killer and the matchmaking handled by Ronald Perez. TV coverage was made by the RPN-9 program ?Main Event? which is being shown every Saturday at 1 p.m.
