WBO NO. 8 LAPUT READY FOR BIGGER FIGHTS

Dual regional champion Ramie Laput, now rated no. 8 superbantamweight by the prestigious World Boxing Organization (WBO), says he is ready to take on the best fighters in the world.
Laput, who is managed by Ken Smith who founded the American Boxing Academy in Digos City, has been installed no. 8 by the Puerto Rico-based boxing body following his win of the WBO Intercontinental title recently against Donriel Marcos in Digos City.
Along with the Intercontinental crown, Laput also holds the WBO Asia Pacific title, making him the only Filipino fighter to hold such distinction.
WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo announced the other day Laput's ascencion into the no. 8 position, stating that this augurs well for the Mindanao-based fighter.
Laput's manager, Ken Smith, has indicated that he will bring his ward to the United States for training and possible fights, stating that Laput is ripe for a possible world title fight.
