DONAIRE WILLING TO TALK THINGS OVER WITH DAD
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Tue, 11 Nov 2008
SAN FRANCISCO--Just a few seconds ago, Philboxing.com received a call from its Las Vegas-based correspondent Ferdinand Dalope, informing that IBF/IBO flyweight king Nonito Donaire Jr is ready and willing to talk with his dad to thresh out whatever differences they have concerning the boxing affairs of the Filipino boxing star.
"Junjun (Donaire Jr) really feels down, and he wants it known that he is ready and willing to talk with his dad and find a solution to their problem," said Dalope, who was at ringside when Donaire defended his title on Nov. 1 against Moruti Mthalane.
Nonito Donaire Sr, in a previous interview with Philboxing.com prior to his return to Manila last week en route to Cebu, said that he is very disappointed with how the career of his son is moving, and left San Francisco with a very heavy heart.
"I feel that I have just lost a son. I feel that my years of hard work and dedication for him to succeed in life has not been appreciated," the renowned trainer said.
