BREAKING NEWS: PENALOSA-ROCHA IS OFF!

Due to the current issues surrounding Mindanao's peace and order situation, organizers have finally decided to pull the plug on the September 20 title defense of WBO bantam king Gerry Penalosa against Mexican Nestor Rocha.
Sources close to the situation have told Philboxing.com that although Lanao Del Norte is several hours away from North Cotabato where tension is currently building up between government troops and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), organizers would rather be safe than sorry especially in dealing with an event of this magnitude.
"We are dealing with this situation the best way we can, and we are still trying to resort to our other plans," said promoter Sammy Gello-ani in an interview yesterday.
