BREAKING NEWS: CEBU CITY THROWS FULL SUPPORT TO BANAL-CONCEPCION WORLD TITLE BOUT!

The Cebu City government, led by Mayor Tommy Osmena, an avid boxing fan and close friend of superstar Manny Pacquiao, has thrown its support to the big July 26 event pitting the undefeated Cebuano AJ 'Bazooka' Banal against Panama's Rafael Concepcion at the New Cebu Coliseum.
The event is presented by the ALA Promotions, ABS-CBN and Golden Boy Promotions.
Cebu City Councilor Sylvan 'Jack' Jakosalem, in a message to Philboxing.com, revealed today that the city is granting a financial support to the event, while giving it full tax exemption, zero charges in city-wide streamering, allowing parking around the Cebu City Coliseum on fight day, while fielding police and Citom personnel in the area.
The city's support to the boxing event was approved last Wednesday, according to Jakosalem, himself a big sports supporter of the city.
"This is going to be the first time we do this kind of support to a boxing event," said Jakosalem, citing the three approved resolutions that sealed the deal for the Banal fight.
