TANAMOR TO TRAIN AT ALA GYM
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 05 Jul 2008

Beijing Olympics-bound Harry Tanamor, the only Filipino who will see action in boxing, is slated to train at the ALA Gym starting on Monday.
Tanamor will be accompanied by his Cuban coach Enrique Steiner Tissert as well as boxers Joan Tipon and two other members of the Philippine boxing team.
"They will stay for two weeks," said sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer yesterday at the press conference announcing the AJ Banal-Rafael Concepcion showdown for July 26.
While at the ALA Gym, Tanamor is expected to spar against the likes of Z Gorres, ex-WBC champ Malcolm Tunacao, WBO champ Donnie Nietes, Eriberto Gejon, WBO Asia Pacifif Youth lightweight champ Jason Pagara, Weng Haya and Jether Oliva.
Ta?amor is hoping to win the country?s first Olympic gold medal, although before that needs to rack up five victories in the high-powered division and possibly one over China?s standout Zou Shiming.
Ta?amor, 29, will be entered in the 48-kilogram class and sees Zou, a bronze medal winner in the 2004 Athens Games, as the man to beat in the quadrennial Games slated Aug. 8-24.
Zou beat him in the finals in last year?s World Championships in Chicago, Illinois where he earned his ticket to the Olympic games.
