Catterall had sustained severe damage above his eye. The ringside doctor allowed the fight to continue after assessing the severity of the cut, but as both fighters come out to battle it out for round 7, Referee Bob Williams decided to stop the contest. For Harlem Eubank (now 21-1-0, 9 KOs), this marks his first professional defeat and a significant setback in his career trajectory. He expressed disappointment in the outcome and asked for an immediate rematch. "There has to be a rematch," Eubank said. "I was coming into the fight beautifully. We need to run it back right now. The decision went against me because they cut the fight short." This victory positions Jack Catterall for bigger opportunities in the welterweight division, potentially setting him up for another world title shot or a major domestic showdown. His performance underscored his class and ability to dismantle opponents, even those as highly regarded as Eubank.
