Maquilan to fight Bacalso on June 22 at Elorde Davao Gym

ORTHODOX Noli James “The Explosive” Maquilan of Compostela Valley will face Jelo Bacalso of Digos City on June 22 at the Elorde Davao Gym in Tulip Drive, Matina, Davao City.
The 23-year-old Maquilan [10-3-0, 7KOs] recently won the WBC Asian Continental bantamweight title by a 11th round technical knockout against Jason “The Pain” Facularin of Davao last June 8, 2024 in Pasay City.
Maquilan also stopped Dannel Maamo of Misamis Oriental in the 4th round last November 11, 2023 to win the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight title in Quezon City.
Maquilan, however, lost to Adrian Lerasan of Antipolo in the 3rd round last March 20, 2025 for the vacant Philippine bantamweight title at Okada Manila Hotel in Paranaque City.
Bacalso [6-8-2, 4KOs], on the other hand, recently beat Mike Kinaadman last July 26, 2024 in Calinan, Davao.
But Bacalso lost to Gabriel Tapales by a majority decision last March 12, 2025 at Bula Gym in General Santos City.
The Maquilan-Bacalso 8-rounder is the main event of the DUKC [Davao Ultimate Knock-out Challenge] Promotions headed by promoter Alfie Angelo Jonsay.
