ALEXIS BARRIERE PENS CO-PROMOTIONAL DEAL WITH MATCHROOM, GROUPE YVON MICHEL AND GOLDSTAR PROMOTIONS PhilBoxing.com Mon, 14 Apr 2025  Canadian Heavyweight aiming to break into the big time this year Alexis Barriere has signed a long-term co-promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom, Groupe Yvon Michel and Goldstar Promotions. The unbeaten Canadian Heavyweight returned to action in February in impressive fashion live on DAZN, stopping Ubaldo Ilagor inside six rounds in Gatineau, Quebec, in the first Matchroom show on Canadian soil, recording his ninth KO win in 12 fights in the paid ranks. The 29-year-old southpaw and former Team Canada man was one of Tyson Fury’s sparring partners for his two fights with Oleksandr Usyk in May and December, and now the Sugar Hill Steward-trained Quebec puncher will look to put the division on notice and make an impact in the rankings. “I am very happy and excited to be joining the Matchroom team,” said Barriere. “I want to thank Eddie Hearn, Frank Smith, Groupe Yvon Michel and my manager Brian Peters for this great opportunity. “I am extremely grateful for the trust they have placed in me, and I will repay them by becoming their next World heavyweight champion!
