Raymond Ford Dominates Mattice in Ennis-Stanionis Co-Main Event Thriller in Atlantic City (Full Undercard Results)

PhilBoxing.com

Ford connects with a right at Mattice.

In a compelling co-main event that set the stage for the welterweight unification bout between Boots Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis in Atlantic City, NJ Saturday night (Sunday in Manila), Raymond Ford (17-1-1, 8 KOs) delivered a dominant performance, successfully defending his WBA Continental North America Super Featherweight title against Thomas Mattice (22-5-1, 17 KOs). Ford showcased his superior speed and boxing acumen over ten rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory with all three judges scoring the bout 100-90 in his favor. The win further solidifies Ford's position as a rising force in the super featherweight division.

The DAZN main card also saw emotional scenes as Shakhram Giyasov (17-0, 10 KOs) overcame personal tragedy to deliver a powerful fourth-round knockout of Argentina's Franco Ocampo (17-3-0, 8 KOs) in their welterweight contest. Giyasov dedicated his victory to his late infant daughter after dropping Ocampo in the first round and finishing him with a body shot. In another main card bout, Orlando's super welterweight prospect Omari Jones (2-0, 2 KOs) impressed with a lightning-fast first-round knockout of veteran William Jackson (13-6-2, 5 KOs).

Earlier in the evening, the "Before The Bell" portion provided its own share of excitement. Local lightweight Francisco Rodriguez (7-0, 7 KOs) maintained his perfect knockout record with a TKO victory over Naheem Parker (5-2, 2 KOs), who couldn't continue after the third round. Super bantamweight prospect Arturo Popoca (16-0, 9 KOs) put on a dominant display, stopping late replacement Edgar Joe Cortes (9-8-1, 1 KO) in the eighth round via TKO after multiple knockdowns. Philadelphia's Tahmir Smalls (14-0, 10 KOs) thrilled the local crowd with a first-round knockout of Earl Bascome (13-2, 2 KOs) in their welterweight matchup. Finally, super featherweight Zaquin Moses (3-0, 2 KOs) earned a second-round knockout victory over Alex Pallette (1-4, 1 KO). The series of compelling undercard fights built anticipation for the main event welterweight title clash.
