“REVENGE”: SHADY GAMHOUR SEEKS PAYBACK IN REMATCH AGAINST DEVONTAE McDONALD

Dominique Roundtree Gets Second Crack At Vacant NBA Title; Yakima’s Own Andrew Murphy Aims to Stay Undefeated On Friday, April 11 in The Pacific Northwest At Legends Casino Hotel

“REVENGE” will be Streaming Live & Free on FITE by Triller 24/7, Zonefy, BOLT+, Swerve Combat, Free Live Sports and Unbeaten Sports Chanel

TOPPENISH, WASHINGTON, April 4, 2025 -- Devontae McDonald was awarded a majority decision win over Shady Gamhour in a ten-round super middleweight bout on December 12 at Legends Hotel Casino. A rematch was discussed in the ring immediately following the announced decision and it was soon made. On Friday, April 11, Shady returns to McDonald’s back yard to seek “Revenge.”

“REVENGE,” promoted by Roy Jones Jr Boxing, will take place at Legends Casino Hotel in Toppenish, Washington. Tickets, price at $40, $50 and $60 are available at Ticketmaster here and at the Legends Gift Shop (where there are no surcharges). Doors open at 6 pm PT and first bout is at 7 pm PT

The event will Stream Live and Free, beginning at 10 pm ET / 7 pm PT, on the following apps: FITE by Triller 24/7, Zonefy, BOLT+, Swerve Combat, Free Live Sports and Unbeaten Sports Chanel.

Trainer Roy Jones Jr., formerly recognized as the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world for the better part of a decade, will be in the corner for four of his fighters on the card: Gamhour, Dominique “Lil Jalapeno” Roundtree, Andrew Murphy and Darnell Thompson. He will also be the broadcast analyst for the complete card, doing so from the corners when his kids are in the ring.

McDonald-Gamhour 1 was a back-and-forth chess match between the two, with both landing bit punches and slick combinations. McDonald won on the scorecards seven rounds to three twice and the third judge has it an even five rounds to five, therefore a majority decision win.

Shady Gamhour (13-2, 9 KOs) whose main residence is in Sweden while not training in Pensacola, will battle Devontae McDonald (8-4, 2 KOs) in a ten-round super middleweight bout. McDonald, who never fails to put on an action-packed fight, is from nearby Wenatchee, Washington, and will have a partisan crowd behind him. One-sided hordes are something Shady is used to since he has never fought in his home country.

“April 11 is going to be a rematch and a redo of our December fight,” said McDonald. “My boy Shady thought he got robbed and he’s looking for revenge. I put a beating on him then and he’s got another one coming. You’re not going to want to miss it. It’s going to be a showstopper.”

“The December fight I gave him two rounds, maybe three,” said Gamhour, meaning the rounds he thought McDonald won. “On April 11, I will return for my revenge. It was a mistake leaving it in the judges’ hands and that won’t happen again.”

In the co-main event, Dominique “Lil Jalapeño” Roundtree (10-0-1, 6 KOs) will battle Sean Brewer (4-2, 3 KOs), in an eight-round bout for the vacant NBA Intercontinental Featherweight Championship. Roundtree, who trains with Jones, is from Augusta Georgia, while Brewer hails from Henderson, Nevada. Roundtree fought to a draw in December for the same title. Brew is trained by former world champion “Bones” Adams.

Undefeated and the pride on Central Washington, Andrew Murphy (9-0, 6 KOs) is from nearby Yakima, just a short drive from Legends Casino Hotel. Murphy, fighting for the second time since shoulder surgery, will fight in a six-round super middleweight bout against Virginian Justin Gunter (7-4, 5 KOs).

In a four round welterweight bout, Jose Cervantes (3-1, 3 KOs) from Fife, Washington battles Jeremiah Sierra (2-2, 1 KO).

Opening the card, in a four round heavyweight bout, Darnell Thompson, former Olympic Qualifier semi-finalist, will be making his professional debut against Jalen Davis (1-3, 1 KO) from Sacramento, CA.

The four fighters on the card that Jones trains, are part of the 15-20 prospects in his camp. The gym is on his farm in Pensacola, Florida – the same gym Roy trained in throughout his illustrious career.

“The kids that come to me already have some talent and have a drive to get better,” said Jones. “Every fighter has parts of their game that they excel at. I find what that is – whether it is boxing, power punching, or counterpunching – then make them the best at that they can be. I can’t make them into me, of course, but I strive to make them the best version of themselves.” All of the fighters in camp would reiterate those same words.

ROY JONES JR. was world champion at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight (undisputed) and in 2003 became the first former middleweight world champion to become world heavyweight champion in over 106 years when he beat John Ruiz to win the title. He was the first boxer EVER to make his professional debut at junior middleweight to go on to become heavyweight champion of the world. As Undisputed Light Heavyweight World Champion, Jones made seven successful defenses. Roy was the consensus No. 1 Pound-for-Pound boxer from mid 90’s thru the early 2000’s.
