CANASTOTA, NY - MARCH 30, 2025 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame joins the worldwide boxing community in mourning the loss of former lightweight champion of the world Livingstone Bramble, who passed away recently at the age of 64.
“Livingstone Bramble was a talented lightweight champion and one of boxing’s most unique and colorful personalities,” said Hall director Ed Brophy. “We were saddened to learn the news of his passing and we offer our condolences to the Bramble family.”
A native of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Bramble defeated Ray Mancini for the WBA lightweight title in 1984 and successfully defended over Mancini, Edwin Curet and Tyrone Crawley before losing the belt to Edwin Rosario. He also shared the ring with the likes of Kostya Tszyu, Edwin Rosario, Roger Mayweather, Buddy McGirt, Rafael Ruelas and Charles Murray. He retired in 2003 with a 40-26-3 (25 KOs) record.
Bramble was a frequent visitor to Canastota for the annual Hall of Fame Weekend.
“Whenever he came to the Hall, he was a fan favorite, always willing to talk to fans about his fights, pose for a photo or sign an autograph,” said Brophy.
