In partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the 2025 IFX Premier League Pool is being hosted for the first time at Hills Hotel in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. PURCHASE SPECTATOR TICKETS HERE Chua opened the day with a crucial 5-3 victory over the then-frontrunner, Robbie Capito, before following it up with another 5-3 win against Edward Koyongian. The Hanoi Open champion capped off his dominant run with a 5-2 triumph over World Championship runner-up Eklent Kaçi, securing his place at the top of the 16-player field. Elsewhere, An Nhiet finally broke his losing streak, securing back-to-back wins against rising Filipino star AJ Manas and Sanjin Pehlivanovic, edging out the latter in a tense hill-hill battle. However, his bid for a third win was cut short by Mosconi Cup MVP Jayson Shaw, who defeated him 5-2. Shaw climbed back into third place on the leaderboard, just behind Capito, thanks to a second victory over Kledio Kaçi. However, his momentum was halted in his next match as he fell to Pijus Labutis. Meanwhile, Capito rebounded from his loss to Chua, securing key wins over Aloysius Yapp and Moritz Neuhausen to stay in the top two. Defending champion Shane Van Boening also made a strong move up the table, climbing into fifth place. Although he lost his opening match against Pehlivanovic, the American responded in style, grinding out two hill-hill victories over AJ Manas and Edward Koyongian. Van Boening’s clash with Koyongian looked destined for defeat, but the Indonesian missed a critical 8-ball on the hill, allowing SVB to capitalise and level the match. In vintage fashion, Van Boening then put on a tactical masterclass, forcing Koyongian into three consecutive fouls with a series of expertly executed safeties to secure the win. Just ahead of Van Boening sits Moritz Neuhausen in fourth. The young German slipped down the rankings after losses to Capito and Yapp but managed to stay inside the top four with a dominant 5-1 victory over former PLP champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, who now finds himself in eighth place. With the leaderboard tightening, the battle for the top ten is set to intensify as the Premier League Pool continues in Sarajevo.
