WBA Champion Eimantas Stanionis Settles in at Wild Card Gym in Preparation for Unification Showdown with Jaron “Boots” Ennis

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 10, 2025) – Reigning WBA Welterweight Champion Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs), has recently kicked off his training camp at the legendary Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, CA, under the guidance of coach Marvin Somodio. The Lithuanian champion is preparing for the biggest fight of his career—an explosive welterweight unification showdown against unbeaten IBF Champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) on April 12 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. The high-stakes battle will be broadcast live on DAZN in an event promoted by Matchroom Boxing in association with TGB Promotions.
After arriving in Los Angeles two weeks ago, Stanionis has quickly adjusted to the change in time zone and climate, settling into his intense training regimen. The harmony with Coach Somodio has been a blessing to Stanionis and his mindset.
“I feel great,” said Stanionis. “Since arriving in LA a couple of weeks ago, I’ve gotten used to the time change and weather. Even though I hadn’t fought in a while, Marvin and I picked up right where we left off. We work well together, and we’re making all the right changes to be in top shape. Training has been going really well, and I’m focused and ready for this fight.”
Many boxing experts consider Ennis the favorite in this fight, labeling him the most feared man in the welterweight division. However, Stanionis embraces the challenge with confidence and thrives under the pressure.
"Many people think Ennis will win, but I am here to surprise everyone," said Stanionis. "I have worked my whole career for this fight, and on April 12, I will give everything to win these titles and show I am the best welterweight in the world."
