Angel Barrientes Training Camp Quotes

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 4, 2025) – Boxlab Promotions' rising super bantamweight prospect, Angel “AK-47” Barrientes (12-1, 7 KOs), is set to return to the ring this Friday, March 7, as he faces a tough challenge against Alexander Castellano (11-1-2, 2 KOs).The scheduled 8-round bout will take place at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto as part of Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Prospects 11 series, available globally for free on DAZN.com and the DAZN app with no subscription required.

Barrientes, a highly skilled and dynamic fighter from Las Vegas, NV, has been sharpening his craft alongside his father and trainer Richard Barrientes, preparing for this critical matchup with high-level sparring and an intense training camp.

Angel Barrientes on his training camp:

“This has been one of my best camps yet. Training with my dad, as always, has been an amazing experience, and I’ve been sparring against top competition to make sure I’m fully prepared. Every camp, we push to get better, and I feel sharper, stronger, and more confident heading into this fight.”

On his matchup with Alexander Castellano:

“I know Castellano is a tough fighter with a solid record, but I’ve been in the ring with some of the best. He’s got skills, but I’m ready to showcase my ability and take control of the fight. I’m going in there with a winning mindset to show everyone that I belong at the top.”

On fighting in Canada for the first time:

“I’m excited to be fighting in Canada for the first time. The energy of a new crowd, a new atmosphere—these are the kinds of experiences that push me to perform at my best. I can’t wait to step into that ring and put on a great show for the fans out there.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“A win here will set the stage for bigger fights. This is the kind of challenge I need to prove that I’m ready for the next level. Beating Castellano in a dominant fashion will open the doors for bigger opportunities, and I plan to take full advantage.”

“Angel Barrientes continues to impress and develop into a serious contender in the super bantamweight division,” said Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra on Barrientes’ progress. “He’s been working hard, and we believe he’s ready for this next level of competition. Castellano is a good test, but Angel has all the tools to come out on top. We’re confident that he’s going to put on an incredible performance and take another step toward becoming a world-class fighter.”
