Pressure on WBC Cruiserweight World Champion Badau Jack to sign contract to fight mandatory challenger Ryan “The Bruiser” Rozicki PhilBoxing.com Fri, 28 Feb 2025  Canadian knockout artist says: ‘The waiting is over!’ HAMILTON, Ontario, Canada (February 27 2025) – The pressure is on World Boxing Council (WBC) Cruiserweight World Champion Badou “The Ripper” Jack (20-1-1, 19 KOs) to sign a contract to fight the WBC’s No. 1, mandatory challenger Ryan “The Bruiser” Rozicki (20-1-1, 19 KOs) by tomorrow (Friday, end of day), per the WBC, or be stripped of his title. Rozicki’s promoter, Three Lions Promotions, was the lone bidder earlier this month for the recently ordered WBC purse bid. Self-promoted Jack, 41, did not submit a bid. Three Lions Promotions has secured a date and venue, April 26 at Centre 200 in Rozicki’s hometown of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. “Ryan is ready to face anyone at this point,” Dan Otter of Three Lions Promotions said. “He wants the green (WBC) belt. Jack is the best option, and I am hopeful he honors the contract that was produced from the winning purse bid. He has less than 48 hours to sign the contract, per the WBC ruling, or we must work with the WBC on whoever Ryan’s opponent will be for the world title fight if Jack is stripped.” Rozicki, 30, has been the mandatory challenger since 2023, first for then-WBC Cruiserweight World Champion Noel Mikaelyan (27-2, 12 KOs), who failed to make his ordered title defense with Rozicki. The WBC recently named Mikaelyan its “Champion In Recess,” elevating Jack to its World Cruiserweight Champion from his position as the WBC “Champion In Recess.” Jack hasn’t fought anybody in two years, never mind making a single title defense since he captured the crown on February 26, 2023. “I’m here to fight anyone that is put in front of me at any time,” Rozicki proclaimed. “I’m ready to become the WBC Cruiserweight Champion of the World.
