BOXING SENSATION BRAYAN “THE KING” LEON, RECENT CANELO SPARRING PARTNER, JOINS THE REYNOSO STABLE FULL-TIME

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS, NV – February 27, 2025 -- Undefeated Cuban knockout artist Bryan “The King” Leon spent the better parts of last August and September sparring with Canelo Alvarez, assisting in preparation for the September Berlanga showdown.

Leon made such an impression as Canelo’s chief sparring partner, Canelo’s head trainer, Eddy Reynoso, asked Brayan and his advisor, Tony Gonzalez, to join his stable.

“I am very excited to be working with Brayan,” said Reynoso. “He’s a special talent that is the total package. He has speed and extraordinary power and can fight on the inside or out. Most important, his ring IQ is off the charts.”

“I could not think of a better situation for Brayan and his future than partnering up with Eddy,“ said longtime boxing attorney, Tony Gonzalez. “Brayan is an exciting, young talent who will benefit from this venture - both inside and outside the ring. You cannot measure the value of what Brayan is receiving from training next to and with two of the greats of our sport in both Reynoso and Canelo. This is greatly underestimated but I certainly do not. The obvious benefit he will gain from just the visibility of being in Reynoso and Canelo’s stable is a blessing for this young man. I look forward to working with Eddy and together making Brayan Leon the next household name in boxing.”

Brayan Leon added, “I am very blessed to have this opportunity in working with Mr. Reynoso and my advisor, Tony Gonzalez. I want to work hard and together with their experience, I know I will make my mark in boxing. I not only want to win a World Title, but I have always dreamt of becoming a superstar - ever since I was a child in Cuba. I always dreamed of this and now it is on me to make my dream a reality.”

The twenty-two-year-old Leon (6-0, 6 KOs) born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, made his Team Reynoso debut this past Saturday, February 22, in Tijuana, Mexico. The super middleweight bout, scheduled for six rounds, Leon won by second round knockout.

The amateur standout was two-time Cuba Junior National Champion (2021 & 2022) and made his professional debut on January 21, 2023.

On Monday, “The King” will head to Canelo’s camp in Tahoe, to train with the best, to prepare him for a bright future.
