Undefeated Brooklyn Heavyweight Prospect Pryce Taylor to fight This Saturday in Puerto Rico

PhilBoxing.com

NEW YORK CITY (February 24, 2025) – Fresh off his devastating second-round knockout victory of Jerell Nettles on February 2nd, undefeated Brooklyn heavyweight prospect Pryce Taylor (6-0, 4 KOs) is looking forward to fighting for the first time, professionally, outside of the United States this Saturday night (March 1).

Taylor faces southpaw Trevor Kotara (4-3-1, 1 KO), fighting out of Mesa, Arizona, in Taylor’s second scheduled six-round bout, to be streamed on DAZN live from Coliseo Tomas Dones in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

The show is co-promoted by Salita Promotions – Taylor’s promoter – and Fresh Production.

“I’ve never fought in Puerto Rico, but I vacationed there and loved it,” the 6’ 4”, 265-pound Taylor said. “I know some Spanish words and phrases and they definitely support their fighters there. I want to show them my skills, power, and agility; I’m going to move like a welterweight. I’m not concerned about fighting in my second six-rounder because I always train to go 12. I’ll be ready.

“It’s important for me to have people (outside of the New York and New Jersey areas) to know who Pryce Taylor is and how good I am. I fought a southpaw in my third pro fight (Taylor won a 4-round unanimous decision over Antonio Torres). I spar southpaws a lot because, after a loss in the amateurs to a southpaw, I made it a priority to spar southpaws, so I could beat them.”

A former college basketball player, Taylor was a standout amateur boxer, recording a record of 60-11, including a pair of New York Golden Gloves titles, in addition to being the heavyweight runner-up four times in the prestigious USA National Championships.

Taylor is managed by NYC boxing lawyer Keith Sullivan, the former Deputy Commissioner for the NYS Athletic Commission, who also manages 3-time, 2-division World Champion Miyo Yoshida (18-5) and undefeated Bronx NYPD Officer Nisa Rodriguez (3-0, 1 KO), the WBA No. 3 rated welterweight, in addition to co-managing world-rated (WBA #5, IBF #6, WBC #14) welterweight contender Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan (14-0, 11 KOs), the reigning WBA Continental Champion from Limerick, Ireland. Sullivan co-manages Donovan with former world middleweight champion Andy Lee, who is also Donovan’s head trainer.
