PhilBoxing.com Fri, 21 Feb 2025

February 21, 2025 - Promising super lightweight prospect Lee Reeves (12-1, 8 KOs) of Limerick, Ireland, has been added to the undercard of the Friday, February 28, boxing event from Casino Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, and streamed live worldwide on DAZN.
The popular southpaw Reeves will appear on the French-language DAZN broadcast only, in a six-round battle against undefeated Szabolcs Szabota (2-0) of Budapest, Hungary.
Presented by Matchroom Boxing and Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) in association with Lee Baxter Promotions and First Cut Sports, the event, Matchroom’s first-ever Canadian event, will be headlined by a 12-round “All Mexico” super featherweight clash between hard-punching former world title challenger Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez and relentless pressure fighter Rene “El Bravo” Tellez Giron.
A celebrity in his native Ireland, the colorful Reeves appeared as a contestant on Survivor UK 2023 and has also modelled for Nike and declined multiple proposals for a reality TV series based on his life.
29-year-old Reeves is a six-year pro, who has split his career fighting mostly in the UK and Canada. In his biggest career victory to date, he defeated Mexican fighter Sebastian Diaz Maldonado to become the North American Boxing Federation light welterweight Champion in 2022.
On fight night, televised action starts at 8 p.m. EST / 1 a.m. GMT. Tickets for the event are on sale NOW on Ticketmaster. Casino du Lac-Leamy is located at 1 Bd du Casino in Gatineau, QC.
