Ryan Clark defeats Ross Rodriguez in Old-fashioned barnburner fight

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (February 16, 2025) -- Last night, main event fighters Ryan Clark and Ross “El Maestro” Rodriguez turned in an incredibly entertaining six-round fight that headlined the “Fight Night At The Vets Club III” pro boxing card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Clark (5-7-1, 2 KOs) and Rodriguez (3-2, 1 KO) had the packed crowd on its collective feet with their non-stop action fight, in which Clark won a unanimous decision, although the fight was closer than the judges’ scores (60-54, 59-55, 59-55) may indicate.

Both fighters kept coming forward, rarely clinching, displayed tough whiskers and, although neither was hurt, they were both battered and bruised, yet hugged each other with broad smiles after the final bell in a sign of mutual respect.

Clark, who improved to 3-1-1 at the Bridgewater Vets Club, used a right uppercut to the Rodriguez’ chin, followed by a left hook to the body or head. Just when it seemed like Rodriguez was ready to go, he always came back throwing flurries of crisp, effective combinations.

The old boxing saying - ‘they could have fought in a phone booth’ - was never more appropriate than Clark vs. Rodriguez.

Once again, Granite Chin Promotions partnered with the Bridgewater-based charity Fire For Effect Foundation. Its mission is to honor and empower veterans, first responders and their families by providing essential resources, support and community-building initiatives that foster resilience, restore hope, and strengthen the fabric of our community.
