By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Thu, 23 Jan 2025

UNDEFEATED Vencent “The Venum” Lacar of Surigao City is the Boxer of the Month for December 2024 by the Games and Amusement Board.
The 27-year-old Lacar earned the honor for winning the vacant WBC Far East and WBO Oriental flyweight titles last December 28 at the Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, China.
Lacar [9-0-0, 4KOs] beat Bin Lu of China by a split decision.
Meanwhile, featherweight Michael “Hot ‘N Spicy” Dasmarinas [36-3-2, 25KOs] of Pili is the only remaining champion in GAB Ratings.
The 32-year-old Dasmarinas won the vacant Philippine featherweight title by retiring Quezon’s Jon Jon Estrada in the 9th round last June 22, 2024 in Cataingan.
He recently won the vacant WBF International featherweight title by stopping Eduardo Esquivel in the 1st round last November 2 in George Town, Australia.
Welterweight Rimar “Terminator” Metuda, on the other hand, of Cagayan de Oro lost his title after failing to defend his crown last December.
The 30-year-old Metuda [17-9-1, 11KOs] was supposed to fight last month against Ali Canega of Paranaque City at the Blow by Blow in General Santos City.
But the fight was postponed.
Metuda, who is based in Davao City, is now rated no. 2 behind Canega in the super lightweight 140 lbs. division.
There are now 11 vacant champions in the GAB ratings.
