UTP National Team Triumphs at 39th Penang International Juniors’ Tennis Championships

The Unified Tennis Philippines (UTP) National Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 39th Penang International Juniors’ Tennis Championships, taking home 3 singles titles, 4 doubles titles, and 4 runner-up finishes. Their strong showing highlighted the Philippines as a growing force in junior tennis and set the stage for more successes in the upcoming second leg in Hat Yai, Thailand.

UTP, an organization dedicated to developing young tennis talent in the Philippines, continues to prove its commitment to fostering excellence on and off the court. The team's victories in Penang underscore the depth of talent in the country and the effectiveness of UTP’s programs.

“This performance is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our young athletes,” said UTP President Jean Henri Lhuillier. “It’s inspiring to see their determination and passion bring pride to our country. We at UTP remain committed to providing them with the support and opportunities they need to continue excelling on the international stage.”

The competition brought together some of the region’s best junior players, but the UTP National Team rose to the challenge, delivering one impressive performance after another. Their success was marked by multiple championship wins and finalist finishes across various age divisions.

● 16U Girls Champion: Jana Diaz defeated Mak Zooey (Malaysia)
● 18U Girls Champion: Hannah Divinagracia defeated Mica Emana (Philippines)
● 18U Boys Champion: Ariel Cabaral defeated Ethan Wong (Singapore)
● 12U Girls Finalist: Ma. Caroliean Fiel
● 14U Girls Finalist: Donna Mae Diamante
● 18U Girls Finalist: Mica Emana
Doubles Champions and Finalists
● 14U Boys Champions: Ace Bandala and Brendan Morales defeated Mohammad Azri and Mohammad Sufan (Malaysia)
● 16U Girls Champions: Jana Diaz and Khalilah Imalay defeated Sharon Kok and Tan Yi (Malaysia)
● 18U Girls Champions: Hannah Divinagracia and Mica Emana defeated Audrey Aulia and Zoehanka Saputra (Indonesia)
● 18U Boys Champions: Ariel Cabaral and Gian Andre Dela Cruz defeated Ethan Wong and Issac Chun Yang Lai (Singapore)
● 12U Boys Finalists: Xian Calagos and Ethan Aguilar
● 12U Girls Finalists: Ma. Caroliean Fiel and Tadine Seno
