Valdez will challenge WBO junior lightweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete in an ESPN-televised rematch on Saturday @ Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona
PHOENIX, Ariz. (Dec. 4, 2024) – Oscar Valdez, a two-time Mexican Olympian, spent much of his youth in Arizona. Three days before a highly anticipated all-Mexican clash, he spent the afternoon in his home state with boxing's next generation.
Top Rank In Your Corner stopped by Hard Knocks Gym as Valdez shared stories from his boxing journey, signed autographs, showcased several ring drills, and gave away Top Rank t-shirts to the young boxers in attendance.
Valdez has fought in Arizona seven times, including March's seventh-round TKO over Liam Wilson. He returns to The Grand Canyon State for a legacy-defining showdown against his fiercest rival.
Valdez (32-2, 24 KOs) will challenge WBO junior lightweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete (38-2-1, 31 KOs) in a rematch on Saturday at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Navarrete-Valdez 2 headlines a world championship doubleheader broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT. In the co-feature, WBO featherweight world champion Rafael Espinoza defends his strap in a rematch against Robeisy Ramirez, the man he dethroned to win the title last December.
