Three days before a highly anticipated all-Mexican clash, he spent the afternoon in his home state with boxing's next generation. Valdez has fought in Arizona seven times, including March's seventh-round TKO over Liam Wilson. He returns to The Grand Canyon State for a legacy-defining showdown against his fiercest rival. Valdez (32-2, 24 KOs) will challenge WBO junior lightweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete (38-2-1, 31 KOs) in a rematch on Saturday at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Navarrete-Valdez 2 headlines a world championship doubleheader broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
