Rising Star Carlos De Leon Castro Returns to the Ring This Saturday in Hometown of San Juan, PR

PhilBoxing.com

SAN JUAN, PR (December 2, 2024) – Boxlab Promotions’ rising super featherweight prospect, Carlos De Leon Castro (2-0, 1 KO), is set to showcase his talent once again this Saturday, December 7th, in his hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The action-packed four-round bout will see Castro square off against Jose Alfredo Guevara (2-2-1, 1 KO) of Laredo, Texas, at the legendary Coliseo Roberto Clemente. The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN, as part of a stacked event promoted by Universal Promotions and Matchroom Boxing.

The 19-year-old De Leon Castro, known for his dynamic skill set and charisma, is looking to build on his undefeated record in front of his home crowd. Hailing from San Juan, the promising prospect is laser-focused on becoming the next big star from Puerto Rico, following in the footsteps of iconic fighters from the island.

“It’s an honor and I’m excited to be fighting in my hometown at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente,” said De Leon Castro. “Puerto Rico has produced some of the best fighters in the sport, and I want to make my people proud. This fight is another step toward becoming the next big star from the island. I’m ready to put on a show for my fans and prove that I belong on the big stage.”

“Guevara is a tough fighter who comes to fight, but I’ve trained hard for this moment,” Castro added. “I’m ready to adapt and dominate, whether it’s by outboxing him or going for the knockout. I want to show everyone why I’m a name to watch in this division.”

“Carlos has all the tools to be the next face of Puerto Rican boxing,” said Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra, who believes in De Leon Castro’s potential to become a superstar in the sport and sees this fight as a pivotal step in building his profile. “He’s young, hungry, and incredibly talented. Fighting in San Juan, in front of his hometown crowd, is a key part of our plan to develop him into a future world champion and a fan favorite. This Saturday is just the beginning of what we believe will be an incredible journey for Carlos.”

As excitement builds for Saturday night, Carlos De Leon Castro is determined to seize the moment and continue his ascent in the super featherweight ranks. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness one of Puerto Rico’s brightest young stars in action. Tune in this Saturday on DAZN.
