Mirar wins Mt. Apo Skyrace 2024

GODWIN Mirar from Maramag, Bukidnon ruled the challenging 2024 Mt. Apo Sky & Vertical Race held last December 1 at Playa de Obuza Beach Resort in Barangay Darong, Sta Cruz, Davao Del Sur,

Mirar clocked 15 hours, 21 minutes and 10 seconds in the 100 kilometer race which kicked off last November 30.

Second placer was Jevie Cagatin from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon at 16 minutes, 5 minutes and 42 seconds.

Race director Romualdo Calbes said that the race included a summit at the Mt. Apo peak, the highest rooftop in the Philippines.

“This race which is the 7th edition started last 2015 is also part of Asia Trail Master series,” said Calbes.

This event is in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Sta Cruz, Provincial Tourism of Davao Del Sur, Department Of Tourism Davao Region (DOT XI), and Boulder Face Challenge.

Mt. Apo is the highest mountain in the Philippines with an elevation not more than 3,000 meters above sea level.
