Swedish heavyweight Genti Morina Set for Professional Debut in Denmark

PhilBoxing.com

This Friday, November 29, Malmö’s own heavyweight champion, Genti Morina, will make his professional boxing debut. The event takes place at the iconic Frederiksberg Hallerne in Copenhagen, as part of a grand boxing gala hosted by legendary promoter Bettina Palle, celebrating 25 years in the business.

– “I’m incredibly excited and ready to showcase my skills on this big stage. This has been my dream since I was a kid, and now it’s time to take the first step towards reaching the top of professional boxing,” says Genti Morina.

A Family Legacy in Boxing
Genti, who turns 26 in December, hails from a boxing family. His father, Luan Morina, was a prominent fighter with over 100 amateur bouts and 10 professional matches in England. Luan has been Genti’s coach since childhood, laying the foundation for his successful amateur career. In recent years, Genti has been under the guidance of renowned head coach Hisham Zaben at Fightzone IF in Malmö.

Genti’s amateur career is packed with accolades:

Swedish Heavyweight Champion (2021 and 2022)
Nordic Heavyweight Champion (2022 and 2023)
With over 50 amateur fights (42 wins) and experience on both Swedish and international stages, Genti is ready to transition into the professional arena.

Strong Ties to Denmark
Living in Malmö, just across the bridge from Copenhagen, Genti considers Denmark his second home. He has competed on Danish soil before and looks forward to using Copenhagen as a base for his professional career.

– “Denmark feels like home to me. I’ve trained and competed here many times and formed strong bonds with Danish boxers and fans. Starting my professional journey here is the perfect beginning. I want to deliver a show filled with action and intensity for the audience.”

Big Goals, Step-by-Step
Genti’s ultimate dream is to fight for world titles, but he’s well aware of the hard work and strategic progress needed to reach that level.

– “My focus is on building myself step by step, but the dream is to become a world champion. With the right support and dedication, I’m ready for the challenge.”

The Upcoming Fight
The card in Copenhagen features 10 bouts, including three heavyweight clashes. Genti Morina’s opponent will be announced shortly. The event will be broadcast live on Pluto TV, a free streaming platform available in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
