Casimero TKO’s Sanchez in 1st round
By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Mon, 14 Oct 2024

JOHN Riel “Quadro Alas” Casimero of Ormoc City stopped Saul “The Beast” Sanchez of USA by a technical knockout in the 1st round, last October 13, Sunday, at the Yokohama Budokan in Yokohama, Japan.
The 35-year-old Casimero first knocked Sanchez down early in the round but the Mexican immediately stood up.
Casimero landed countless punches to Sanchez that sent down on his back for the second knockdown.
The fight resumed with Casimero again throwing left and right punches that forced Sanchez to hang on to the body of Casimero.
They were separated by the referee. But when Casimero again hit Sachez with his stinging right and left with no answer it was when the referee stopped the fight.
Casimero then made a one handed exercise before going to Sanchez’ corner.
Casimero wants to fight next undefeated Naoya Inoue of Japan, who is the reigning IBF, WBO and WBC World super bantamweight champion.
Casimero improved his record to 34 wins with 23 knockouts against four losses and one draw.
His first ended in a technical draw against Yukinori Oguni last October 12, 2023 at the Ariake Arena in Koto-Ku.
Sanchez suffered his 4th loss against 21 wins.
Meanwhile, Vince Paras of General Santos City lost to Hiroto Kyoguchi of Japan by a unanimous decision.
The two judges both scored it 94-96 in favor of Kyoguchi while the other saw 95-all.
Masayuki Ito of TB Promotion is the promoter.
