PFF supports Football Starts at Home By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Wed, 09 Oct 2024 THE Philippine Football Federation is supporting the “Football Starts at Home” with Coach Tom Byer at the 39 Regional Football Associations. Byer conducted today, October 8, Tuesday a FSAH program at the Homitori Davao in Bangoy, Davao City. Byer explained FSAH how to teach as early as three years old until 18 years old. “Adapting my philosophy and methodology, embracing new information and ideas, and venturing beyond traditional football coaching have been enlightening,” said Byer, who was supported by PFF President John Gutierrez and Davao South RFA President Ernesto Ortonio Jr. Also present were PFF Youth Development Officer Albert Ryan “Abing” Lim and Coaches Education Tutor Rachelle “Ching” delos Reyes. They will proceed to M’lang and Sultan Kudarat on October 9 and to Maguindanao and General Santos City on October 10. FSAH started last October 1 in La Union followed by Olongapo [Oct. 2], Rizal [Oct. 3], Laguna [Oct. 4], Mindoro and Naga [Oct. 5], Masbate and Leyte [Oct. 6], Surigao and Golden Davao [Oct. 7] and Tagum [Oct. 8]. “Understanding the journey between grassroots and national teams has been crucial to my sustained career in development,” said Byer, a former professional soccer player. Byer added: “What has been achieved in a short time would typically take years for others. This top-down leadership approach is spearheading a movement with unprecedented speed and urgency.” Meanwhile, Gutierrez supports FSAH because he “believes in the program and that this new system will change the game.” Click here to view a list of other articles written by Lito delos Reyes. |
