Sirimongkhon, Matt Floyd Ready for WBF World Title Clash in a Highland Show in Thailand

PhilBoxing.com

Former 2-division WBC world champion Sirimongkhon Iamthuam, one of the most popular and at times controversial sports figures in Thailand boxing, is all set to embark on one heck of a comeback when he fights younger Aussie Matt Floyd of Perth, Western Australia, for the WBF (World Boxing Foundation) Light Heavyweight Title.

The battle-tested veteran warrior Sirimongkhon (98-5, 62 KOs) and taller, undefeated Matt Floyd (13-0, 9 KOs), are colliding hard on Sunday, October 6, in an FCC/Highland Boxing Show at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

Leading up to this WBF title fight against Sirimongkhol, the six foot Matt Floyd has scalped all of his thirteen opponents since turning pro in February of 2021 in Northbridge's Metro City, his most recent win a round two stoppage triumph over Waraport Junporm just two weeks ago in Bangkok.

Matt Floyd.

Meanwhile, Sirimongkhon - nicknamed by Thai fans as Teppabud na yok เทพบุตรหน้าหยก ("Jade Face Angel") - comes from a unanimous decision win over Thai compatriot Yuttana Wongda last March at his dad's Singmanassak Muaythai School Gym in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

Matt is handled by active Australian promoter Tony Tolj and experienced coach Angelo Hyder of Dragon Fire Promotions, while the ring-savvy Sirimongkhon is managed and trained by his father Singmanassak, and his brother Manopchai, owners of the Singmanassak Gym (ค่ายมวยสิงห์มนัสศักดิ์).

Sirimongkhon Iamthuam.

Who will win in this Clash of Civilizations, the younger powerful Australian or the crafty, smart Thai former two weight-classes king?

For so many fans on social media, "Matt packs 100% TNT explosive power. Sirimongkhol owns quality boxing skills."

Then, what will happen?

Could the proven lion-heart veteran champ Sirimongkhon reverts time by outclassing, out-smarting, and defeating the coming-forward, hard-punching Matt Floyd, for a storied championship victory?

Or would it be the super aggressive slugger Matt Floyd, 35, the one to land hard and devastating on the Thai former world champion to claim a win, perhaps by stoppage?

The intriguing WBF world title war on Sunday, October 6 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium is a promotion of Thailand's FCC (Fight Club Championship) in association with Highland Boxing Promotions.

Fans outside Thailand may watch the show LIVE online from the YouTube Channel of the promoters Fight Club Championship and Highland Boxing Promotions.

May the Best Man Win!
