THE 2024 Pingpong for Peace Program, dubbed as the first Mindanao Inter-School Ping Pong tournament, is set on September 28 and 29 at the Spin Davao Center at the Avancena St. in Jacinto Extension, Davao City.
“Two hundred participants are expected to join in the elementary, secondary and collegiate level,” said Friendee Nunez of Metro Davao Table Tennis Association [MeDaTTA).
The categories are the Elementary Boy's and Girl's Singles, Secondary Boy and Girl's Singles and College Men and Women's Singles.
Also present was Pinpong For Peace Chairman Ed Fernandez who graced Thursday’s (September 12) Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the SM City Davao Annex.
“We believe that sports is a vehicle for Peace wherein children from all ages will come to play,” said Fernandez.
Pingpong For Peace is a spin-off of former Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William “Butch” Ramirez’s Children’s Games wherein various sports activities were held in different areas in Mindanao catering to children of all ages.
MeDaTTA recently organized the Kadayawan Table Tennis Open held last August 16-18 at Spin Davao Center.
