FM Cu to banner Xavier School FIDE rated blitz chess on August 17

Manila---FIDE Master Ivan Travis Cu will spearhead a strong cast clashing in the Xavier School FIDE rated blitz chess tournament on August 17, 2024 in Xavier School, San Juan City.
The top seeded Cu looms as the player to beat in the ten-round Swiss system tournament with a time control of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment owing to his current FIDE blitz rating of 2099.
The event, hosted by the Starshots Coffee in cooperation with the Nova Wellness Store and Xavier School offers a beautiful trophy to the champion.
Other woodpushers vying in the event are second seed Matthew Angelo Chang (1591), third seed Travis Vincent Chua (1591), and fourth seed Jian Adam (1547).
Other chess players participating are Jian Adam Siy, Theodore James Alberto, Sean Pio Derrick Angeles, Constantin Chan, Daniel George Dominic Cotoco, Hunter Dylan Kaw and Jayden Thompson Ong.
The National Chess Federation of the Philippines sanctioned tournament open to all Xavier School students and alumni.-Marlon Bernardino-
