Mehrabi, Zhang, Jirakrit Score KO Wins in Highland Show Thailand By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Mon, 05 Aug 2024 Iranian Mehrabi's hand is raised in Thailand. BANGKOK, Thailand – Sajad Mehrabi of Iran, Zixin Zhang of China and Jirakrit Jarurattanachai of Thailand were the biggest winners in the entertaining show staged Sunday, August 4, at the popular Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand. In the quick and thrilling main event, 168-pounder Sajad Mehrabi (5-3-2, 4 KO's) of Hamedan, Iran, stopped with a succession of lethal body shots Big Boy Shanhanat Seenoul of Thailand. Coming from a hard-fought draw last May in China, this time the rugged Sajad Mehrabi emerged from battle victorious. 15-year-old Zixin Zhang from Shenzhen, China scores his first pro boxing win. In another Super Middleweight rumble, 15-year-old rookie Chinese boxer Zhang Zixin (1-0, 1 KO) stepped with success into pro boxing by dropping and halting the far more-experienced Wutthisak Padthum of Thailand. Then, in minimumweights, undefeated 23-year-old Jirakrit Jarurattanachai (4-0, 4 KO's) of Bangkok, stopped 20-year-old whirlwind Natthawut Samang. The two fighters came at each other with blazing swords with Natthawut landing the bigger shots in the early going, inflicting more damage. That was the scenario until Jirakrit mounted an effective counter-attack to his foe's mid-section, rocking him down to the canvas from where he could not get back, getting the full 10 seconds count. Unbeaten Thai Minimumweight Jirakrit scores his 4th win. This was Jirakrit's fourth win. He scored two KO victories in 2023, and this year he has already bagged another two stoppages, wanting to scalp more people. MORE RESULTS Furthermore, in an all-Thai affair in the bantamweight division, 33-year-old former PAT titlist Niran Baonok (a.k.a. Rungniran) from Buriram ravaged the Ubon Ratchathani warrior Manat Trirat for a rapid TKO win. Then in Super Flyweights, 19-year-old Phisit Paochanthuek overpowered Thanayut Faphimai, decking and demolishing him mercilessly. Finally, in war of veteran Thai Middleweights, Patphong Khowwiloed (aka "Gupee") blasted Wanpichit Siripana (aka "Patomsak") from Prachuap Khiri Khan. Supervisor of the event for the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PAT) was Mr. Thanat Saraban. Sunday's show was a promotion of Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions in association with Supanat Chanram, Zhen Li and K. Must Maslyin. Highland Boxing will promote two more shows in Thailand in August: The next one on August 18 at the famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, and then on August 29 at the plush SpacePlus Night Club in Bangkok as well.
