Basic Mountaineering Course on Aug. 24-25 at GAP Farms

DAVAO CITY -- A Basic Mountaineering Course is set on August 24 and 25 at the GAP Farming Resorts in Green Meadows, Ma-a.
“Let's get brilliant at the basics,” said Mountaineering Federation of Southern Mindanao [MFSM] President Gene “Jimboy” Sumampong, who is also a BMC instructor.
The 52-year-old Sumampong is one of the instructors in the two-day BMC organized by the SCOOP News Davao in coordination with the MFSM.
The climbers or would-be climbers will be equipped, skilled and well-trained mountaineers.
They will learn the Basic Ropemanship technique & application, Basic bandaging & application, Basic Life Support(BLS) & application, Leave No Trace Principles (LNT), Mountaineering values & attitude, Trail ethics, Uses & familiarization of equipment, Tent fixing and Backpacking.
Registration fee is P1,500 with free event shirt, certificate, event ID, bag tag, free pass at venue and swimming pool, snacks, materials needed during actual application, raffles and freebies.
