Q & A with Jenny Do of Vietnam's Shadow Entertainment

PhilBoxing.com

Jenny Do.

Jenny Do (Shadow Entertainment) boxing promotion has been quite active over the course of the last year hosting boxing events. Along with the Vietnam Boxing Commission, will host the 2024 WBA Asia Convention at the Iconic New World Hotel, located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City Center, Vietnam. Below is a Q&A with Jenny Do.

Q. Your events have some amateur fights on the undercards. Are some of these fighters on the national team?

Jenny Do: There will be no fighters from the Vietnam national team. Our undercards will feature only professional fighters.

Q. Your events are of very high quality. Are there plans in the works for international TV?

JD: We aim to provide highest quality boxing fights in Vietnam as well as in the region and the expansion to international markets is in our pipeline. However, in order to expand, we must ensure our fight quality as well as production in each event. Meanwhile we are exploring opportunities for international TV broadcasts to bring our boxing events to a international audience.

Your unbeaten fighter AJ Paciones is ranked #5 in the world. How long before you feel he is ready for a world title fight?

JD: It's difficult to pinpoint an exact timeline, but with consistent progress and the right opportunities, we believe he could be ready for a world title when his time comes. At the same time, he will need to prove himself more so that the WBA can confidently give him a title shot.

Q. When did you find out you would be hosting the 2024 WBA Asia convention?

JD: We were informed about hosting the 2024 WBA Asia convention earlier this year, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to host such a prestigious event.

Q. What are some of the planned activities for the event?

JD: The 2024 WBA Asia convention will feature a variety of planned activities, including seminars, panel discussions with industry experts, networking events, and special guest appearances. Additionally, there will be an announcement of the WBA Asia tournament, an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding achievements in boxing as well as our LEAD Boxing event.

Q. Will fans be able to attend?

JD: Yes, fans will have the opportunity to attend select events during the WBA Asia convention. We are planning to offer a limited number of tickets for fans to join in the excitement and be part of this prestigious event.

Q. Are there hopes in the future to host the WBA annual convention?

JD: Absolutely, we have strong aspirations to host the WBA annual convention in the future. Hosting such a significant event would be a great honor and a testament to our commitment to promoting and supporting the sport of boxing on a global scale.
