Battle of Undefeated: Sam Goodman vs Chainoi Worawut in Super Bantam World Title Eliminator in Australia

PhilBoxing.com

An intriguing and crucial match in the hot 122-pound division is about to unfold next Wednesday in The Land Down Under.

It will happen when Aussie rising-star Sam "The Ghost" Goodman and Thachtana Luangphon (a.k.a. Chainoi Worawut) of Thailand collide in a super bantamweight world title Eliminator in the coastal Wollongong City in New South Wales, Australia.

The winner for the 12-round battle claims a direct ticket to his dream fight: a clash against the Super Bantamweight World Champion.

So who will the winner be?

Born in nearby Albion Park, Sam Goodman was thought to be the next challenger for Naoya Inoue. That has changed.

Instead, the spectacular Inoue (27-0, 24 KO's) will defend his undisputed title against veteran 37-year-old Irishman TJ Doheny in early September in Japan.

Indeed, Inoue will defend against Doheny, even though Goodman handsomely out-classed and defeated Doheny last year.

Yes, time and again. Things in boxing change in a blink of an eye.

So, Goodman (18-0, 8 KO's) will be colliding against the 27-year-old Chainoi (25-0-1, 15 KO's), the Thai fighter who wants to return to his hometown Bangkok victorious and with his unbeaten record intact.

Will that happen?

Interestingly, these days it has been speculated that after his fight against TJ Doheny, Naoya Inoue might make a move up to Featherweights. What do you think about that?

And that is why Sam Goodman vs Chainoi Worawut is so crucial because the winner decidedly inches closer to a world title challenge. The loser getting back to square one.

FIGHTERS WORLD RANKINGS AND REGIONAL TITLES:

Chainoi Worawut is currently ranked as WBC #8. The unbeaten Thai has been WBC Asia Super Bantamweight Champion, and is managed by Thailand's Nakornloung Promotions (NKL).

On the other corner, Sam "The Ghost" Goodman is WBC #7, IBF #1 and WBO #1. The promising Aussie has been WBO Oriental Super Bantamweight as well as IBF Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight titlist, and is promoted by No Limit Boxing.

"Sam Goodman vs Chainoi Worawut" 12 round World Title Eliminator is a promotion of Trent, Matt and George Rose of No Limit Boxing on Wednesday, July 10, at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, live on FOX Australia Kayo Sports and Main Event.

May the Best Man Win!
