BOSTON, MA (June 26, 2024) – Undefeated super welterweight Cristian Cangelosi (8-0, 4 KOs), hailing from Palermo, Sicilia, Italy by way of Brooklyn, NY, is primed to make his return to the ring this Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Royale Nightclub in Boston, Massachusetts. Cangelosi will square off against Aelio Mesquita (21-14-1, 19 KOs), from Guaruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil, in a scheduled 6-round super welterweight bout. The event, promoted by Nolan Bros Boxing and titled “Rumble at the Royale” promises to be an exciting night of boxing action.
Managed by Chris Gilmore Jr. and Zach Margules of Fide Management Group, the 26-year-old Cangelosi is solidifying himself as a rising star in the super welterweight division. Cangelosi is ready to showcase his talents on a new stage in Boston, MA, with the goal to gain new fans.
“I’m excited to be fighting in Boston for the second time,” said Cangelosi. “The energy and support from the fans here is incredible, and I can’t wait to put on a great show. A win this Friday will help me land bigger fights and bring me closer to my goal of becoming a world champion.”
“Cristian is a special talent with the heart of a champion,” said Chris Gilmore Jr., co-manager of Cangelosi. “His commitment and work ethic are the reason we signed him, and we believe he has what it takes to go all the way in this sport. Boston is in for a treat this Friday.”
“Cangelosi has been training relentlessly for this fight, and we’re excited to see him back in action,” said co-manager Zach Margules. “Like every fight for a prospect, this fight is a pivotal moment in his career, and a win will put us in a great position to march up the rankings.”
“This is a great opportunity to continue my unbeaten streak and further establish myself as someone to look out for in the super welterweight division,” concluded Cangelosi, who trains under the guidance of Ismael Salas. “I have a great team behind me, and I believe in myself to become great in this sport. This Friday will be another step in the right direction.”
