Aguilar-Agaha duo wins Sarbay Pickleball

ALABEL, Sarangani – The pair of Tony Aguilar and Ian Agaha won the Men’s Open in the 1st Sarbay Fest Pickleball tournament held last May 25-26 at the Sarangani Sport Training Center at Capitol Compound in Alabel.

The dynamic duo from Marbel Pickleball Club defeated Rens Pacheco and Jan Robert Nobleza of Pickleball Nook from Davao City.

Third place were Christian Fel Lopez and Rey Anthony Byrd also of Pickleball Nook.

Aguilar also combined with Katherine Ann Rosalita of CFC Pickleball to trounce the duo of Zaldy Mendez and Rose Masaling of PN-DC.

Andrew Benjamin and Argene Benjamin placed third.

In the Mixed Doubles, Pacheco paired smoothly with Theresa Claire Nacito of Welcome Pickleball Manila to thump Nikko Disca and Winona Cabardo of DCPCI Davao.

Kevin Elechicon [Pickleball Nook] and Mariella Renee Mariveles [Gensan Pickleball] placed third.

Nobleza also crushed Pacheco in the Singles finals. Third was Aldrin Quintero of Marbel PC.

In the 16-Under COED final match which almost ended at midnight last May 26, Andrei Nicolai Cruz and Syesha Bree Binas of Tupi Smash Club clobbered Jacob Cagas-Sean Canieso of Kipalbig Dinkers.

Third was Sebastian Solano-Julian Solano of Marbel.

“This is the biggest tournament so far,” said Mark Philip Mariveles, one of Pickleball Ambassadors from Gensan.

The 2-day league had a total of 242 players with 13 categories and 498 events.
