DAVAO CITY -- Kier Clenton Espere of Surigao City will defend his Interim PBF bantamweight title against dangerous Michael “The Chieftain” Bravo of Kidapawan City on June 23 at the Cagwait White Beach Resort in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.
Espere is training now with Ariel Lodovice at Alpha Fight Club Gym in Surigao City. He will be making his first title defense since he knocked out Ian Donaire in the 2nd round last December 29, 2023 at SM Seaside in Cebu City.
Espere, however, lost his last fight by a unanimous decision to undefeated Yoroge Gura [7-0-1] of Talisay City last March 8, 2023 in Cawayan.
Espere has six wins with two knockouts but has also got six losses with one draw while the 31-year-old Bravo has 14-4-0, 7KOs record.
The 8-round fight was promoted by Rogelio “Loloc” Lopez of RFL Promotions and General Merchandising as part of the 28th Kaliguan Festival of the municipality of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.
Last year, RFL Promotions did an amateur boxing invitational tournament which is a derby style in Cagwait.
“But now we are doing professional boxing because they saw last year was a success,” said Jo-al Lopez, a manager of Alpha Fight Club.
Five pairs in the pro division will be added while 10 amateur bouts will still be added to the card.
