Pasig City---Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Kristina Knott dominated the women’s 200-meter event after clinching the gold medal in the Day 2 of the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ITCSI) Philippine Athletics Championships 2024 at the Philsports Oval in Pasig City on Thursday, May 9 here.
The Tokyo Olympian Knott clocked in 23.48 seconds, followed by fellow national athlete Angel Frank (24.56) and Danae Manibog (24.72) of FilAm Sports.

Twenty two-year old Jamela De Asis of the University of Santo Tomas reigned supreme in the Women's Shot Put Open category to claim the gold medal. This is her second year competing in the Philippine Athletics Championships, and she hopes to duplicate her victory when she competes in the Women’s Hammer Throw event.
De Asis dominated the Women's Shot Put in 12.05 meters. Sarawak Sukma Malaysia's Ng Jing Xuan (10.78) was second followed by Far Eastern University's Mary Jean Maloloy-on (10.44).

University of the East’s Vincent Vianmar Dela Cruz opened Day 2 of the ICTSI Philippine Athletics Championships 2024 with a gold medal in the men’s 10,000-meter walk (Open).

This is the third gold for the 23-year-old Dela Cruz from San Miguel, Bulacan in the Philippine Athletics Championships after winning his first title in 2017 in the 5,000m walk and the 10,000m walk gold in 2019.

Dela Cruz clocked 48:08.21 to beat Pasig City's Carlos De Imus (48:21.93) and University of Santo Tomas bet Gabriel Amit Oxales (55:24.77).

"I wasn't expecting to win because I had little time to prepare. I'm happy to get the gold," said the 5-foot-7 Villanueva during the awarding ceremony.
