SINSUAT NETFEST: Lim survives Aquino for 21U boys title

TOP SEED Isaac Christian Lim of Toril survived against the hard-fighting Ryle Aquino of Tagum City in three sets to win the 1st Daneea Balabaran Sinsuat Junior Tennis Championships last April 22, Monday at the Toril Tennis Club in Toril.
It was a heart-thumping final as Lim took the first set, 7-5. However, Aquino managed to tie the game by taking the second set, 5-7.
In the final game, Lim conquered Aquino 10-9, with the match already past 11 p.m.
Lim reached the finals by defeating Davao’s Ray Anthony Byrd, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8, while Aquino defeated Davao’s RJ Judabal, 6-4, 6-1.
No. 2 seed Stephen Fuertes of Digos also faced Aquino in the finals of the 18U boys, beating him 6-2, 6-1.
In the 12U boys’ finals, Matt Docena of Maragusan scored an upset over top seed Kresthan Belacas of M’lang, 7-5, 5-7, 10-5.
Host Daneea Balabaran Sinsuat awarded the trophies to the winners, assisted by her mother, Eishah Balabaran, and tournament director Titong Cansino.
The Philta Group 3 event was sponsored by the Balabaran Sinsuat Family, Head the Official Ball, Barrio Filipino Restaurant, MTB Food Product, and the Philippine Lawn Tennis Association [Philta].
