Paradero leaves for Masbate to fight Malupague By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Wed, 17 Apr 2024 FORMER world rated Robert “Inggo” Paradero of Malaybalay City will fight Charlie Malupague of Zamboanga City on April 20 at the Cataingan Astrodome in Cataingan, Masbate. The 27-year-old Paradero left his hometown via Cebu for Masbate together with Cebu-based trainer Edmund Villamor and Paradero’s partner Cathy Godinez. They are expected to arrive in the early morning tomorrow. Paraedro has sparred with Christian Pador and Renan Portes with the help of Armand dela Cruz and Biboy Villanueva in Malaybalay. Paradero was also assisted by Bernard Yu of Butuan City. “I will give them a good fight in Masbate,” said Paradero. Paradero is determined to win this fight in order to get a chance to fight in the United States of America. “I want to win this fight to get a chance in the US,” said Paradero. In his last fight, Paradero suffered a cut on his scalp which was caused by an accidental head butt in Round 2 by his undefeated opponent Berland Robles of Cebu City on March 8, 2024 in Cawayan, Masbate. Paradero [18-7-2, 12KOs] has suffered seven losses already since 2021 and five of them are in a title fight. Paradero first lost to Vic Saludar by a split decision for the vacant WBA World minimumweight title last February 20 in Binan City. He was then stopped in the 5th round by Thai Thammanoon Niyomtrong for the WBA Super world minimumweight title last December 14, 2021 in Saphan Hin Phuket. Paradero also lost by a unanimous decision to Gcina Makhoba of South Africa for the WBF World super flyweight title last December 3, 2022 at Dundee, SA. He again suffered a split decision to April Jay Abne of Misamis Oriental for the Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation Silver flyweight title last August 15, 2023 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City. Abne was down once in Round 8 but Paradero was deducted a point in Round 10 for attempting to hit Abne while he was down. Despite the lack of training and no available trainer, Paradero accepted to fight Arnold Garde of Davao for the Mindanao Professional Boxing Federation super flyweight title last October 11, 2023 at Antipas Gym in Antipas, Cotabato. Paradero again suffered a setback by a technical decision. Malupangue, on the other hand, lost to undefeated John Kevin Jimenez of Cebu by a 2nd round last December 9, 2023 in Bogo. Meanwhile, the boxing event entitled “Basbakan sa Masbate” is promoted by Antonio Kho of the ATK Promotions. “The pro fights will start at 7 p.m. after the 20 amateur bouts at 4 p.m. Entrance is free,” said Kho.
