BOBBY PACQUIAO WANTS KATSIDIS' WBO BELT
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Jun 2008

Bobby Pacquiao wants another chance at glory, and this time, he is aiming for the old WBO Asia Pacific lightweight title of the popular Australian Michael Katsidis.
Earlier, there were plans to pit Katsidis against Pacquiao in Cebu on August 2, but the Australian is now slated to fight Juan Diaz on September 6 in Texas thus making the fight improbable.
Unable to get a fight with Katsidis, the younger Pacquiao will now vie for the WBO Asia Pacific lightweight title against durable Thai Decho Bankluaygym on August 2 at the New Cebu Coliseum or at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
The event will be promoted by Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions in cooperation with the Rex 'Wakee' Salud, International.
Bobby Pacquiao, accompanied by his brother Rogel, the head of the MP Promotions, recently met up with the hard-working WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo in General Santos City, and confirmed his fight with Bankluaygym.
Pacquiao last saw action on March 13, absorbing a first-round knockout at the hands of Urbano Antillon at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
Also seeing action on the card is OPBF bantam champ Rolly Matsushita, who will be defending his title for the fourth time.
