SPORTS FACTS AND FIGURES 2: FLOYD MAYWEATHER HAS SEVEN EXHIBITION BOUTS AFTER RETIREMENT

Floyd Mayweather has engaged in seven exhibition matches since 2018 and hasn’t confirmed that he’ll fight in an exhibition rematch with Pacquiao this year. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao still would attract a lot of interest from the fans and could generate tons of money for both fighters.

Mayweather last fought professionally against MMA great turned boxer Conor McGregor on August 26, 2017, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather won via TKO in the 10th round, breaking Rocky Marciano's record for the longest active unbeaten streak in a professional career at 50–0. Then he hanged up his gloves for good.

Mayweather faced undefeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at Rizin 14 on December 31, 2018, under unspecified rules in his first exhibition bout. The bout ended on a TKO in the first round, when Nasukawa's corner stopped the fight after he was knocked down three times.

Mayweather fought next internet personality Logan Paul in his second exhibition bout on June 6, 2021 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Mayweather dictated the tempo of the fight and landed 43 punches of 107 thrown (40.2%), compared to Paul's 28 landed of 217 thrown (12.9%) per CompuBox.

On May 21, 2022 Mayweather fought an eight round exhibition boxing bout with one of his former sparring partners, Don Moore, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Mayweather scored a knockdown on Moore with a body punch in the eighth round. Moore survived the knockdown and would finish the full distance. There was no scoring and the match ended without an official decision.

The fourth exhibition bout was at the Rizin event on September 25, 2022 at the Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, Japan. His opponent was Japanese mixed martial artist and YouTuber, Mikuru Asakura whom Mayweather defeated by TKO in the 2nd round.

In the next exhibition, Mayweather faced YouTuber Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of KSI on November 13, 2022 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE. Mayweather defeated Deji via technical knockout in the 6th round.

Mayweather fought his sixth exhibition bout against former Bellator MMA fighter and television personality, Aaron Chalmers. His original opponent for the fight, ONE Championship Muay Thai fighter Liam Harrison, withdrew due to a knee injury. The bout took place on February 25, 2023 at The O2 Arena in London, England, and it was Mayweather's first exhibition bout in the United Kingdom. The bout lasted the full eight rounds, there was no scoring and it ended without an official decision.

Mayweather fought professional mixed martial artist and boxer John Gotti III, the grandson and son of mafiosi John Gotti and John A. Gotti, respectively, in an exhibition boxing match on June 11, 2023. The bout was held at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida and was stopped by referee Kenny Bayless in the sixth round. It resulted in a ring invasion by members of each boxer's teams. A number of fights then erupted in the crowd and backstage.

Mayweather was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2010s by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). He was also a two-time recipient of The Ring magazine's Fighter of the Year award (1998 and 2007), and a three-time winner of the BWAA Fighter of the Year awardee (2007, 2013, and 2015), and a six-time holder of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014).

He is often referred to as the best defensive boxer in history and since the invention of CompuBox, Mayweather is the considered the most accurate puncher among professional boxers, with the highest plus–minus ratio in recorded boxing history.

The most wins by a team in a season in the NBA was established by the Golden State Warriors at 73. The Golden State Warriors of the 2015-16 season finished with an amazing 73-9 record that seems to be an unbeatable record. They were led by the NBA’s first unanimous MVP winner Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
