GAB, SPMC team up to promote welfare of professional athletes

THE Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to their commitment for the welfare of professional athletes in the Philippines.
GAB Chairman Atty. Richard S. Clarin and SPMC Medical Chief Dr. Ricardo B. Audan sealed this alliance by signing a MOU solidifying the partnership.
One of the key initiatives arising from this collaboration is the GAB's pursuit of Department of Health (DOH) accreditation to operate a Nissan ambulance dedicated to transporting injured athletes to the hospital.
The MOU establishes a framework wherein the SPMC agrees to provide medical treatment to injured athletes and other individuals engaged in professional sports who are brought in by the designated ambulance, subject to the availability of resources and capabilities at SPMC.
Expressing his deep appreciation, Clarin acknowledged the invaluable support provided by SPMC to Filipino professional boxers and fighters through its provision of free medical services.
Additionally, Dr. Audan, affirmed their unwavering support, stating that even without the ambulance, they will continue to serve all Filipino athletes.
Clarin also presented Audan with a Certificate of Appreciation during the meeting.
This recognition symbolizes the GAB's gratitude for the SPMC's outstanding dedication, willingness, and compassion in serving as the hospital referral partner for the GAB.
