Mark Magsayo attempts to become world champion again when he battles Brandon Figueroa on Saturday, March 4, 2023 (March 5, Sunday, Philippine time) at the Toyota Arena, Ontario, California, U.S.A. for the WBC interim featherweight title. Both fighters made the official 126 lb. featherweight limit during the weigh-in.

Magsayo ended Gary Russell's seven-year title reign and became the new WBC featherweight champion. But his title was short lived when he was defeated by Rey Vargas six months after via split decision.
