Filipino former world champion Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo, who faces Brandon Figueroa for the WBC Interim featherweight title, made weight on the second try at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Ontario, California Friday afternoon (Saturday in Manila). Magsayo earlier was over the weight limit by .8 lbs on his first try and was given two hours to reduce his weight. Magsayo's supporters erupted in joy after the Bohol-native who stripped himself naked for the weighin, stepped the scales at 126 lbs. when he returned to the scales.
The Magsayo vs Figueroa ring battle will happen at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California Saturday, Mar. 4 (Sunday, Mar 5 in Manila) to be broadcast on Showtime.
