Tagbilaran City -- Undefeaed Bohol native Shane Gentallan captured the WBO Oriental Youth Minimumweight Title on his 7th pro fight after he knocked out Indonesian Faisol Akbar in the 2nd round in the co-feature bout of the Suganob-Vicelles Komong Bol-anon IX event at the Calape Cultural Center Saturday night.
Gentallan, 25, showing good footwork in a lefty stance, controlled the tempo of the fight by throwing stiff jabs and combinations at his defensive minded Indonesian opponent who, even though had the advantage height and reach, failed to keep the aggressive Filipino figter at bay. Gentallan consistently connected at Akbar with a variety of punches to the head and body in the throughout the fight. Towards the final minute of the second round, Gentallan connected with a left-right combo to the body that fell Akbar writhing in pain to the canvas unable to beat the count of Referee Rey Caitom. Akbar stayed there for a few minutes before finally getting up.
